A little altar to geometry: stepped, solemn, and superbly simple.

A striking, planar armchair in solid pine, attributed to Italian architect Renzo Baldanello. The silhouette rises in a stepped, ziggurat back—part chapel stall, part De Stijl totem—while flat arms and side panels frame a generous plank seat. Built from wide boards with exposed fixings and triangular seat bracing, it has that deliberate, architectural clarity: nothing superfluous, every line structural. The warm honeyed patina softens the severity, making it as at home in a modern hall as it is beside a stone fireplace. The silhouette steals a slice of wall and turns it into sculpture. It channels the self-possessed spirit of Italian rationalism with a pinch of Enzo-Mari-meets-folk—raw materials, pure geometry, maximum presence.
