The story behind Disjecta Membra

An evolving collection of 20th-Century furniture, art, lighting and objects

Hi, I’m Tom — the founder of Disjecta Membra, a curated collection of 20th-century vintage furniture, art, lighting, and objects.

This all began as a side project, born from a mix of curiosity, a love of the unusual, and my background in visual art. I studied Fine Art sculpture, which shaped the way I see space, form, and the stories that objects carry. Roll on the years, a lot of learning, and a few grey hairs later, Disjecta Membra is now my full-time focus — just me, a carefully sourced selection of oddities, and the daily dance of doing it all.

The name Disjecta Membra (Latin for “scattered fragments”) might raise an eyebrow, but it suits what I do: bringing together beautiful, forgotten pieces and giving them a second life.

This isn’t about trends. It’s about character, history, and objects with presence. Everything here is chosen with care — and nothing is mass-produced.

Thanks for being here. Whether you’re browsing or buying, your support genuinely helps keep this going.

Let’s see where it takes us.
