A reassuringly classic form, given a bit of bite by time.
This is one of those pieces that probably began life as something fairly straightforward — a pressed brass body, neatly formed and assembled and shiny — but has since picked up a far more interesting surface. The patina does most of the talking here. Warm brass tones breaking through areas of wear, darker oxidised patches, and that gentle green bloom gathering around the base where it meets the timber plinth.
The shape itself is traditional — almost urn-like — but the faceted construction gives it a slightly sharper edge. Not overly decorative, not minimal either. It sits somewhere in between, which makes it easy to place.
Constructed from pressed brass sheet over a hollow form, set on a solid wooden base. Rewired with a brass lamp holder and twisted flex.
No shade included — and probably better for it, as it leaves you free to steer the mood.

Good vintage condition. Surface wear, oxidisation and patina throughout — all consistent with age and very much part of its appeal. Light marks to the wooden base.
