Art Deco Louvred Glass Pendant Light
Art Deco Louvred Glass Pendant Light
A lesson in restraint, and in how to make it quietly compelling.
Four tiers of etched glass planes step outward in a measured rhythm, each one catching and softening the light before passing it on. It’s a familiar language of the period, but here reduced to its essentials. No flourish, no excess. Just line, proportion, and a very deliberate sense of spacing.
What’s particularly good is the tension between materials. The glass does the soft work, diffusing and tempering, while the pressed steel frame holds everything in a more architectural register. There’s a slight industrial honesty to it, especially in the inner structure, that stops it drifting into anything too polite.
Unlit, it reads as a crisp, geometric object. Switch it on, and it becomes something else entirely — layered, atmospheric, quietly generous. It gives more than it first suggests.
Suspended from brass chain and newly paired with a brass B22 lamp holder and neutral fabric-covered flex, it sits comfortably between eras — Deco clarity with just enough workshop pragmatism to keep it grounded.
