Chrome-Glazed Openwork Ceramic Bowl
Chrome-Glazed Openwork Ceramic Bowl
A sculptural ceramic bowl that sits somewhere between a fruit bowl and a small piece of sculpture. Formed from an interwoven lattice of branch-like strands and finished in a highly reflective chrome glaze, it has the appearance of something grown rather than made — a tangled nest rendered in polished metal.
The openwork construction allows light to pass through the piece, casting shifting shadows across the surface beneath, while the mirror-like glaze catches and reflects its surroundings. Empty, it feels like an abstract organic form; filled with fruit, it becomes a surprisingly practical centrepiece.
There's something distinctly late-20th-century about it — part studio pottery experiment, part postmodern decorative object. The sort of piece that earns its place on a table without needing to justify itself.
A handsome and unusual decorative object with plenty of sculptural presence despite its modest scale.
