Hayes Parker, Cast Bowl (1998) — American Studio Work
Barnacled and baroque: a little Pompeii for the table.
A richly textured cast bowl by American studio maker Hayes Parker, dated 1998. The swollen, footed form is encircled by clustered granules—like berries, coral or harbour-wall barnacles—building a tactile rim that slips between archaeology and sea-find. Warm ochre tones and a chalky, sun-baked surface give it the air of something unearthed. A sculptural centrepiece with real presence.
