Monolithic freeform coffee table
Monolithic freeform coffee table
A commanding, one-of-a-kind sculptural coffee table hewn from a single monumental slab of hardwood. Carved and polished by hand, the form straddles the boundary between organic and surreal — part prehistoric relic, part postmodern gesture. The tabletop undulates like a landmass viewed from above, cantilevering in smooth curves over two muscular, almost zoomorphic legs that swell from the ground with animal heft.
The whole piece is carved from one continuous block — no joints, no additions — and the sheer density of material gives it the gravitas of a small altar. Its surface gleams with rich tonal variation, from golden honey to deep russet, revealing the wood’s inner life beneath the high polish. A dramatic centrepiece for a gallery-like living space, or a bold anchor in a more eclectic interior.
