A wonderfully oversized full-length mirror with a restrained architectural presence. At 220 cm high, it has real scale, but the simplicity of the frame keeps it from feeling cumbersome — more a vertical plane of glass than a piece of decorative furniture.
The mirror plate has a bevelled edge, sitting within a slim bronzed metal frame with a deep brown, softly aged surface. It’s a particularly good combination: the bevel gives just enough refinement while the dark metal frame remains spare and graphic. There’s something distinctly late-modernist about it, with the proportions and material doing virtually all the work.
Its height makes it especially effective simply leaning against a wall, where it has an almost architectural quality and throws an enormous amount of light back into a room. For a more permanent installation, the mirror is fitted with a French cleat hanging system, allowing it to sit securely and neatly against the wall.
A very chic, very large mirror — minimal enough to disappear into an interior, but with enough presence to completely alter the room around it.
Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related wear to the bronzed metal frame and minor marks and imperfections to the mirror plate. These are consistent with age and use and don't detract from the overall appearance. Please refer to the photographs for detail.
