A small oak table lamp with a surprisingly assured silhouette. Two open arches rise from a circular base around a square central stem: a few straightforward shapes, arranged so well that there is little need for anything else.
The geometry has a distinctly Art Deco feel, but the lamp has none of the chilly perfection that phrase can sometimes suggest. The grain is visible, the construction feels hands-on, and the arches give its upright form a little movement. It looks like someone enjoyed making it. A modest lamp with excellent posture.
A brass lampholder sits above the oak stem, with a small switch set into the base. Shown with its tall cylindrical shade, it gives off a warm, contained light and is well suited to a bedside table, narrow console or that corner which could do with a bit of attention.
