A small square of quiet conviction. Two fish glide past one another in shallow relief, caught somewhere between symbol and ornament, with PISCIS carved below in a hand that feels deliberately simple, almost devotional.

It has the look of something pulled from an older language and reissued for the 20th century. The fish motif, of course, carries its long tail of meaning — early Christian, Mediterranean, decorative — but it also drifts neatly into the astrological. Pisces: the sign of two fish moving in opposite directions, intuitive, fluid, slightly hard to pin down.

There’s a quiet symmetry to that here. The composition feels balanced but not rigid, as if it might shift when you’re not looking. Not showy, not declarative — more the sort of thing that reveals itself slowly. One for those who prefer suggestion over statement.

The material does a lot of the talking. Reconstituted stone with a softly pitted surface, somewhere between cast concrete and weathered limestone. It catches the light in that chalky, forgiving way, giving the impression it has been around longer than it probably has.

A small, thoughtful object. Particularly good if you happen to be a Pisces — or know someone who would quietly recognise themselves in it.
