A small, deeply elemental studio pottery vessel from Cornwall, its spherical form evoking something unearthed rather than thrown. The exterior is raw and unglazed, its sandy, stone-like body marbled with smoke-black markings—a result of raku or pit firing, perhaps. The opening is irregular, almost torn, adding to its primal, archaeological feel.

This is pottery as artefact—sculptural, meditative, quietly brutalist. A work that leans into imperfection and celebrates the tactile. It could sit equally well among ancient relics or contemporary forms, drawing the eye without clamour.
