There’s something quietly clever about this one. A single line of lucite loops, doubles back, and settles into itself — as if someone had sketched it in one continuous motion and then decided it was worth making permanent.

It has that particular 1970s ease with material. Acrylic used not to imitate anything else, but to do something glass never quite could — hold a gesture mid-air. The form feels light, almost improvised, while the brass collar steps in to give it just enough authority. A small, well-judged contrast: movement and stillness, clarity and weight.

It sits comfortably in the world popularised by designers like Dorothy Thorpe, where lucite became both structure and ornament. Whether by her hand or one of the many contemporaries working in that language, the result is the same — a functional object that behaves more like a small piece of sculpture.

Not showy, but quietly magnetic. The sort of thing that improves a surface simply by being there.
