Cast in aluminium and formed into a woven lattice, this sculptural bowl plays with the language of basketry in the most satisfyingly unnatural way: the softness of a woven form, translated into something crisp, metallic, and quietly industrial. Square apertures march across the surface like windows in a modernist façade, while the gently undulating profile gives it that “designed, not made” confidence.
It sits on small integrated feet, lifting the piece slightly from the surface so light and shadow can do their work — and they really do. Fill it with citrus and it becomes a still life. Leave it empty and it reads like a minimalist object in its own right: part Brutalist grid, part postmodern fruit theatre.
