A piece of useful sculpture. Two hand-forged iron uprights climb the wall in slow, serpentine lines, tapering to hammered tips that feel almost totemic. Three solid timber shelves span between discreet round brackets, their simple planes setting off the expressive ironwork. The contrast is the charm: graphic and slender from a distance; up close you catch the hammer marks, the slight irregularities, the warm grain of the wood.
The V-shaped spread gives the whole arrangement an airy lightness while keeping a reassuring sense of structure. It reads as a single composition rather than “bits on brackets,” which makes it brilliant for objects with presence—small bronzes, ceramics, stacked books, a turntable and a row of sleeves. The patinated iron has an honest, workshop feel; the timber has a soft sheen and eased edges, inviting touch.
